Airport

  • Where and how can I get a public transport ticket from the airport to the city centre?

The unireso zone 10 ticket (3.00 CHF / approx. 2.60 €) gives access to the Geneva public transport network for a period of 60 minutes. It can be purchased directly from the ticket machines located at the "Genève Aéroport" and "WTC" bus stops and at the Genève-Aéroport train station.

    • More information on transport at Genève Aéroport
Since 1 January 2022, the bus/train ticket offered by Genève Aéroport to arriving passengers on the Unireso network (baggage claim area) has been withdrawn.

  • Is the airport station a long way from the airport?

No, the Swiss Railways station is very close to the airport. It can be reached from the Departures and Arrivals levels within five minutes on foot. You can view the map of our terminal to see the station.

  • I want to take a taxi when I arrive at the airport but don't know what rules apply in the canton of Geneva. What are they?

Taxis in Geneva can be ordered by phone, flagged down in the street or found at the 60 or so taxi ranks, in town, at the airport and at the stations.

Fares between the airport and city range from 35 CHF to 45 CHF and depend on how heavy the traffic is, the time, and the number of passengers.

  • I arrive in Geneva by plane to then go to a ski resort in the French Alps. What are the available means of transport?

All means of transportation are possible from Genève Aéroport to reach the ski resorts.

All Swiss resorts, including those listed below, are accessible by train from the Railway Station of Genève Aéroport.

Most of the conurbations of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and resorts are served by direct lines.

    • Information, fares and timetables on our Transport page.

Easily find your snow equipment and rent it online (below):

  • How long is the trip between town and the airport by public transport?

The train to and from the airport and downtown takes only seven minutes and runs every twelve minutes during rush hour. All trains stop at the main Geneva train station, Genève-Cornavin (downtown). The TPG buses to and from the airport (stops at the Check-in level, in front of and beside the CFF train station) run every 8-15 minutes during rush hour.

  • Is it possible to get to the Swiss side of the airport from the French sector?

The Swiss side of the airport can be reached from the French sector only by passengers holding a boarding card for a flight on the same day, or for passengers who have a car reservation with a rental agency in the French sector.

From the French sector of Genève Aéroport, you will need to follow the “ABCD / Suisse” (on a blue background) signs to reach the Swiss side. You will need to show identity documents and the boarding card or car reservation.

  • How do I get to the ResaPark area?

    ResaPark Premium (P1)

Follow the signs for "P1 long-term parking".
At the entrance of P1, take a ticket.
Once inside the P1, follow the "ResaPark" signs to level -2.

    ResaPark Economy (P26)

Follow the signs "Long-term parking P26 (follow Arena)".
At the entrance to P26, take a ticket.
Once inside P26, proceed to the top floor, following the "ResaPark" signs.

    ResaPark Economy (P51)

Follow the signs for "P51 Long Term Parking".
At the entrance to P51, take a ticket.
Once inside P51, proceed to level 6 (top floor, uncovered)

At the entrance to the ResaPark area, insert your ticket. Your registration number will be automatically recognised. You can then take your ticket back and the barrier will open.

    • If your number is not recognised, please enter the PIN code that appears on your confirmation.

    • If the code does not work, please contact the car parks control centre directly by pressing the call button.

Once you arrive in the dedicated area, the barrier will open. Park your car in the space of your choice.

  • Can I watch planes in the public area?

You can admire the tarmac from:

    • the Panorama public terrace which offers a panoramic view of the tarmac and the Jura (from March to October).
    • the panoramic restaurant Le Chef.
    • a café with a terrace located beside the runway, opposite the terminal, on the other side of the runway (Meyrin side): Aéro Bistro, 36 route H. C. Forestier, 1217 Meyrin.

  • Can I stay in the terminal overnight?

For security reasons, the airport is closed from 00:00 to 04:00. Unfortunately passengers are not allowed to stay inside the terminal while the airport is closed.

More than 130 hotels in all price ranges in Geneva: the choice is yours. Consult the full list of Geneva hotels, safely book online. If you cannot afford to go to a hotel, we recommend that you contact a Geneva youth hostel, +4122 732 62 60 or +4122 901 15 00.

  • On my ticket it says that the flight leaves from Terminal M, what does that mean?

The "M" means "Main" Terminal, i.e. T1. There is only one main terminal in Geneva, so you cannot mistake it.
