Terminal opening hours

For security reasons, Terminal 1 is closed in the morning from 00:00 to 04:00.

The access road to the French sector (customs road) is closed one hour after the last flight (around 00:30) until 04:00.

No-one is allowed to remain inside the terminal when it is closed.

Check-in on the internet

Most airlines offer the possibility to check in via their website. You can check in online, choose your seat and print your boarding pass before coming to the airport. What a time saving!

In order for airlines to check your travel documents in the current sanitary context, your airline may require you to go to the check-in counter, even if you have checked in online.
For the same reasons, some airlines no longer offer online check-in for the time being.

Quick drop-off for checked baggage

Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS and TAP Air Portugal offer a quick drop-off service for hold luggage. This allows time saving.
How to proceed?

  1. No later than the day before your flight, check in online on your airline's website and print out your boarding pass at home.

  2. When you arrive at the airport on the day of your flight, go to the "self bag drop" kiosks (counters 78 to 83) to scan your boarding pass or QR Code and obtain the label to stick on your hold baggage.

  3. Drop your hold baggage at the dedicated "self bag drop" kiosks.

  4. Enjoy your flight!

Please note: no excess baggage, oversized baggage or special baggage! In this case, proceed with a "classic" check-in at the counter.

Main rules for the airport site area

The airport is a public space in which many people come and go. People's different habits, stress and fatigue sometimes find their expression in forms of frustration and inappropriate behaviour.

In order to make sure that the hub remains a pleasant place to be, Genève Aéroport addresses the following few rules to both passengers and staff working at the airport.

Please apply them both inside the building as well as within its exterior perimeter.
