Genève Aéroport successfully obtained EcoVadis sustainability certification in September 2023. This result, with a SILVER rating, places the airport in the top 25% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
With more than 100,000 companies assessed in over 175 countries, EcoVadis is the world's leading and most reliable rating agency for improving companies' ESG commitments. The EcoVadis assessment reflects the quality of the company's non-financial management system.
"This assessment is a testament to our ongoing commitment to high standards of governance, social and environmental impact, as well as a guarantee that we will continue to improve our ESG practices for the benefit of Geneva Airport, our customers and future generations," explains
Fanny Barakat, Head of Sustainable Development Projects.
"We recognise that there is still work to be done, but this rating assures us that we are on the right track in our route".
An ESG rating is an assessment, based on more than 300 criteria, of the way in which a company manages the risks and opportunities associated with environmental, social and governance issues. It is based on data that must be researched, measured and published. By 'data' we mean information that is both quantitative (such as total carbon emissions, recordable accident rates or gender composition of the board of directors) and qualitative (such as talent development programmes or community relations).
