China has extended a measure that facilitates travel: citizens from around forty countries (including France and Switzerland) holding an ordinary passport can enter the country without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
This exemption applies to business and leisure travel, visits to relatives, transit and cultural exchanges, and is valid until 31 December 2026.
Travelers whose stay exceeds 30 days, or whose purpose of visit does not fall within the permitted categories, must still apply for a visa before departure. Initially valid until 31 December 2025, this measure has now been extended.
