Air Traffic regulation (permanent)
In order to efficiently coordinate all types of flight operations at Geneva airport (Scheduled, Charter, General Aviation and Light Aircraft), a Prior Permission is Required (PPR) as a necessary requirement for flights not coordinated by Slot Coordination Switzerland.
Genève Aéroport has made available two internet based PPR Tools that allows operators to verify the available capacity.
Flights operations exempted from PPR:
Search and rescue flights, ambulance flights, police flight operations, Swiss military flights and official flights authorized by FOCA.
Flights diverting to Geneva for safety, weather, and urgent medical or technical reasons unless there are specific restrictions published in a NOTAM.
For both categories, unless the operation is an emergency, the planned movements must be communicated in advance to the Airport Authorities’ PPR office: opening hours Monday to Sunday, from 07:00 to 17:00 local time, +41 (0) 22 717 71 26.
Handling agent mandatory – reminder (all helicopter/aircraft types)
Commercial flight: Handling agent mandatory.
Non-commercial flight: Self-handling of non-commercial flights is only possible north of the platform and only if the pilot is in possession of an airport identity card (CIA) issued by Genève Aéroport or a crew member card (CMC) recognized by Genève Aéroport. A flight crew license alone is not accepted (ref. AIP LSGG AD 2.20). In case of self-handling, PPRs can be booked by calling the number indicated below.
