easyJet announces the launch of a direct route to Hamburg starting September 3. Flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.
Hamburg is Germany’s second-largest city. It is also home to the country’s largest port, ranked as the
third-largest in Europe, a true economic and cultural engine of the region.
Known for its vibrant cultural scene, the city offers a wide range of activities: theatre, cabaret, some of Germany’s most renowned musicals, as well as visits to one of its many museums. Those who enjoy walking will appreciate the banks of the Alster, very popular with both locals and visitors.
Largely destroyed during the Second World War, Hamburg had to rebuild itself and today stands out for its bold and diverse architecture. Among its highlights is the
Speicherstadt (photo), the world’s largest warehouse district built on timber-pile foundations, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its canals and red-brick façades offer a unique setting, especially at sunset. Also not to be missed: the
Elbphilharmonie, designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. With its wave-like silhouette rising above a former warehouse, it is one of the city’s most iconic and visited landmarks.
Finally, Hamburg boasts a wide range of restaurants, bars, and clubs that will delight night owls looking for a diverse culinary and nightlife scene.
