Summer 2026: new destinations and increased frequencies from Geneva.

24.03.2026

From the end of March 2026, Genève Aéroport will offer more than 120 destinations with direct flights, operated by nearly 50 scheduled airlines. This summer season promises to be particularly dynamic, with the launch of new routes, the arrival of new operators, and the strengthening of several strategic connections.

Bucharest among the major new destinations
Among the main new additions is Bucharest (photo). The airline Animawings will offer three weekly flights to the Romanian capital, expanding the offering to Eastern Europe. Another significant development is the arrival of Air Europa, which will launch a direct route to Madrid with 14 flights per week. This new service enhances access to the Spanish capital while offering connections to the airline’s long-haul network.

New destinations will also enrich the short-haul network, namely:
  • Chisinau will be served by FlyOne with two weekly flights.
  • Brive-Souillac will be operated by Chalair with one weekly flight from July 2 to September 3.
A strengthened long-haul network
Geneva Airport is also continuing to develop its intercontinental offering, which is essential for international Geneva. During summer 2026, seven long-haul destinations will be served by direct flights:
  • Ethiopian Airlines will operate six weekly flights to Addis Ababa.
  • Air Canada will operate seven weekly flights to Montreal.
  • SWISS will offer seven weekly flights to New York JFK.
  • United Airlines will operate seven flights to New York Newark as well as three weekly flights to Washington Dulles.
  • Air China will serve Beijing with five weekly flights.
  • China Eastern will operate four weekly flights to Shanghai.
These routes strengthen connections to North America, Africa, and Asia, with a notable presence in China.

Summer extensions of certain routes
Some winter routes are being extended into the summer season. easyJet will notably maintain its services to London Southend, Las Palmas, Skopje, Tangier, Rennes, Krakow and Sharm el Sheikh, each with two weekly flights. AJet will also extend its service to Ankara with two weekly frequencies.

Frequency increases
Several existing routes will benefit from increased capacity. Pegasus Airlines will increase its frequency to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen from 7 to 14 flights per week, and SWISS will increase its service to Nice from 7 to 11 weekly flights.

New airlines on existing routes
Summer 2026 will also see the arrival of new operators on certain already served destinations. easyJet will now serve Larnaca (2 weekly flights), while AJet will strengthen the service to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen with seven additional weekly flights.
