The Board of Directors of Genève Aéroport acknowledges with regret the decision of Mr Gilles Rufenacht, CEO since 1st October 2024, to step down from his position.

Appointed to head Genève Aéroport as successor to André Schneider, Gilles Rufenacht set about uniting the teams around the ambitious objectives set by the Board of Directors in terms of infrastructure development, environmental transition and harmonious integration into the local fabric.

"This personal choice forms part of the realities of a career. The Board of Directors would like to thank Gilles Rufenacht for his commitment during this period, and emphasizes how seriously and enthusiastically he has taken on his responsibilities. Among his achievements, the reorganization of the Executive Board and the launch of reforms mean that we can look forward to a smooth and serene future," says Christian Lüscher, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In order to ensure the continuity of operations and the continuation of the projects underway, Gilles Rufenacht will remain fully committed until his effective departure on 31 October 2025. In the meantime, the Chairman of the Board of Directors has already launched the recruitment process, which should be completed by the end of the summer.

Genève Aéroport's strategic objectives for 2030 remain unchanged: to improve the passenger experience, pursue the sustainable development of the airport hub, and serve the interests of international, economic and tourist Geneva through an airport that is connected to the world.
