Automated external defibrillators are available throughout the airport. In case of cardiac emergency, every minute counts.

Equipment accessible to everyone

Genève Aéroport provides automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public areas and boarding zones.

These devices are easy to use and designed for anyone, even without medical training. They guide you step by step with clear voice instructions.

In case of emergency, immediately call 144 and use the nearest defibrillator.

Where can you find a defibrillator?

Defibrillators are located:

  • In check-in halls
  • Near security checkpoints
  • In boarding areas
  • In main car parks
  • In certain commercial areas

They are marked with green signage featuring a heart and a lightning bolt.

How to use a defibrillator?

What to do in case of cardiac arrest?

  1. Check the person’s condition
  2. Call 144 immediately
  3. Start chest compressions if you know how
  4. Ask someone to bring a defibrillator

 

Using an AED

  1. Open the device
  2. Follow the voice instructions
  3. Place the electrodes as shown on the diagrams
  4. The device will automatically analyse the heart rhythm
  5. Do not touch the person during analysis

The defibrillator will deliver a shock only if necessary

 

After the intervention

Continue first aid until medical teams arrive.
