Upon arrival in Switzerland, certain rules apply to importing goods. Prepare in advance to pass through customs without any surprises.

What you are allowed to bring

Some goods can be imported without declaration, as long as they fall within the duty-free allowances and are intended for personal use or as gifts.

Some goods are prohibited or strictly regulated, such as:

  • Counterfeit goods (brand or designer imitations)
  • Dangerous or illegal items
  • Food products of animal origin from outside the EU / EFTA

Importing such items may result in confiscation, fines or even legal action.
