- Follow the usual path after landing

- Go up to the Check-in level
- Then follow the “France Sector” signs
France Sector
At Genève Aéroport, you benefit from dedicated access to travel between France and Switzerland, or to reach nearby French cities.
Leaving the airport on the French side
Would you like to head directly to neighboring France? Here’s how to proceed depending on your flight origin.
Accessing the France Sector for departure
Here are the routes depending on whether you are coming from Switzerland or France.
An important rule to know
For security reasons imposed by French and Swiss authorities:
Only passengers with a valid flight ticket for the same day (+/- 1 day) can move between the France Sector and the international sector.
This means:
- Car rental customers without a valid ticket must change sectors by road, via the Ferney-Voltaire customs and reach the airport on the Swiss side
- It is not possible to cross on foot or by bicycle
Understanding the France Sector
The France Sector is a unique area designed to allow you to:
- Check in your baggage and take a domestic flight to France
- Access, for certain airlines, the international transit area
- Easily reach nearby French regions: Pays de Gex, Divonne-les-Bains, Bellegarde, the French Jura, Ain…
