People with reduced mobility: At the airport

Start by going in person to your airline’s check-in counter at least 2 hours before departure to complete the necessary formalities.

Once check-in is completed, proceed to the GVAssistance reception area located at the “Check-in” level of the terminal.

An agent will then assist you and accompany you to your boarding gate.

All passengers must pass through security screening before departure. If you are unable to leave your wheelchair, a manual check will be carried out, in a private cabin if you wish.

To facilitate the process, inform the assisting staff of any pain or mobility limitations so procedures can be adapted.

If you are carrying medical items (pumps, syringes, etc.), an oxygen concentrator, or if you wear a device (prosthesis, pacemaker), keep a medical certificate with you and inform both the GVAssistance agent and security staff.

Before screening, ensure that all compartments of your wheelchair are emptied: it must be completely empty.

For electric wheelchairs with lithium batteries:

• Batteries must be disconnected from the motor
• If removable, they must be taken out before loading into the hold and carried in the cabin, each in a protective case

Once on board, a GVAssistance agent will help prepare your wheelchair for transport in the hold.

Depending on agent availability, and if your ticket grants access, GVAssistance can accompany you to the lounge if you have announced your needs at least 90 minutes before your flight.

Would you like to eat before your flight? The assisting agent can accompany you to a nearby restaurant, depending on the time available before departure, and will return to pick you up at the agreed time.

Assistance is not available for shopping. For this, we recommend visiting stores with your companion.
