New Geneva–São Paulo route operated by LATAM from April 2027

Genève Aéroport is delighted to announce that LATAM Airlines Brasil is launching a São Paulo–Geneva–São Paulo route. From April 2027, LATAM Airlines Brasil will operate three flights a week, using the 787-9 Dreamliner. The launch of this new intercontinental route – the first to South America – is the culmination of the coordinated efforts of LATAM, Genève Aéroport and numerous economic, tourism and ‘Geneva International’ stakeholders.

The new route to Brazil will be operated three times a week with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a state-of-the-art aircraft. Flights departing from Geneva will take off on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12.05pm, arriving in São Paulo/Guarulhos at 6.55pm on the same day. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from São Paulo on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 6.05pm, arriving in Geneva at 9.55am the following day. All times are local and are subject to change.

This timetable will provide excellent connections and access to LATAM’s extensive network of destinations across Brazil and South America, including major cities in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia.

“Excellent news for the whole region”

The launch of this new intercontinental route has been warmly welcomed by Jean-François de Saussure, Managing Director of Genève Aéroport: “The launch of this new direct route between São Paulo and Geneva is fantastic news for the entire region. We know that such a direct connection has long been awaited by diplomatic, business, and tourism stakeholders, as well as by the large Brazilian community living within our catchment area. The United Nations, its agencies, and many multinational corporations based in our region maintain strong ties with Brazil and South America and travel there extensively. This direct service will significantly facilitate their activities. At the same time, an increasing number of Brazilian visitors choose our region as a destination, both in summer and winter. This route will further strengthen Geneva Airport’s role as the Gateway to the Alps for Brazilian travelers. By launching the first direct service between Geneva and Latin America, LATAM is making history and significantly enhancing the international connectivity of our region.”

This new route will make Geneva LATAM Brasil’s 11th European destination and 33rd international destination. "The addition of Geneva to our European network represents an important step in our growth strategy and our commitment to bringing Europe and South America closer together. This new direct connection to São Paulo will allow Swiss and European travellers to access not only Brazil, but also a wide range of destinations across South America through our Guarulhos hub. At the same time, it will strengthen economic, tourism and commercial ties between the two regions,” said Thibaud Morand, Managing Director of LATAM Airlines for Europe, Asia and the South Pacific.

With three weekly flights, this new service will expand travel options between Europe and South America, thereby facilitating business and leisure travel whilst strengthening commercial and community ties between the two regions. Tickets will be available for purchase from Sunday, 1 November, on latam.com and through other sales channels.

New opportunities for cargo transport

In addition to passenger services, this new connection will offer a weekly cargo capacity of 36 tonnes from Geneva to São Paulo and 55 tonnes in the opposite direction. The direct route could reduce transit times by at least eight hours for certain shipments bound for Switzerland, eliminating the need for road transport from other European airports.

This new service will also open up opportunities for the transport of high-value goods between Switzerland and South America. From Geneva, this route will be able to accommodate the demand for all types of pharmaceutical products (active ingredients and temperature-sensitive goods) as well as other high-value goods such as chemicals and watch components.
