Air China and China Eastern have announced an increase in their flight frequencies from Geneva, further improving access to two major Chinese hubs: Beijing and Shanghai. These routes offer both business travellers and tourists more options for reaching China, as well as an extensive network of connecting destinations across Asia, including Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok and Hong Kong, along with major Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi’an.

Air China
Air China is strengthening its presence in Geneva by increasing its frequencies to Beijing during the 2026 summer season, offering a daily connection between Switzerland and the Chinese capital. These additional flights will help meet growing demand for both business travel and leisure trips to China. The airline currently operates flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. From 1 July until 24 October, Air China will offer daily flights to the Chinese capital.

China Eastern
China Eastern is continuing to expand its offer from Geneva with its regular service to Shanghai, the country’s main economic hub. From June 2026, the airline will increase its service from four weekly flights to one daily flight, offering smooth connections to numerous destinations in China and Asia and further improving accessibility for travellers.

Entry requirements information
China offers a measure designed to facilitate travel: nationals of around forty countries, including Switzerland and France, who hold an ordinary passport may enter the country visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. This exemption applies to business trips, tourism, family visits, transit and cultural exchanges, and is valid until 31 December 2026.
In addition, since 20 November 2025, travellers have been able to complete the required entry information online before travelling to China via the official website. Travellers who are unable to do so in advance must complete this process upon arrival in China by scanning the QR code with a mobile phone, using the self-service devices available on site, or filling in a paper arrival card.
