Since the end of March 2026, Genève Aéroport has been offering more than 120 destinations with direct flights, operated by nearly 50 regular airlines. This summer season promises to be particularly dynamic, with the opening of new routes, the arrival of new operators and the strengthening of several strategic connections.
Bucharest among the major novelties
Among the main novelties is Bucharest (photo). Animawings will offer three weekly flights to the Romanian capital, expanding the offer to Eastern Europe, while Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, will be served by FlyOne with two weekly flights.
Another significant development is the arrival of Air Europa, which will inaugurate a direct route to Madrid with 14 flights per week. This new service strengthens the accessibility of the Spanish capital while offering connections to the company's long-haul network.
A consolidated long-haul network
Genève Aéroport is also continuing to develop its intercontinental offer, which is essential for international Geneva. In the summer of 2026, seven long-haul destinations will be served by direct flights:
- Ethiopian Airlines will operate six weekly flights to Addis Ababa.
- Air Canada will operate seven weekly flights to Montreal.
- SWISS will offer seven weekly flights to New York JFK.
- United Airlines will operate seven flights to New York Newark as well as three flights per week to Washington Dulles.
- Air China will serve Beijing with five weekly flights.
- China Eastern will operate four flights a week to Shanghai.
These routes strengthen connections to North America, Africa and Asia, with a notable presence to China.
Summer extensions of some flights
Some winter connections are extended during the summer season. easyJet will maintain its services to London Southend, Las Palmas, Skopje, Tangier, Rennes, Krakow and Sharm el Sheikh, with two weekly flights each. Ajet will also extend its route to Ankara with two frequencies per week.
Frequency increases
Several existing roads will benefit from capacity building. Pegasus Airlines will increase its frequency to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen from 7 to 14 flights per week and SWISS will increase its route to Nice from 7 to 11 weekly flights.
New airlines on existing routes
The 2026 Summer season will also see the arrival of new operators on certain destinations already offered. easyJet will now serve Larnaca (2 weekly flights) while Ajet will strengthen the service to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen with seven additional weekly flights.
