Hub télécom, the leading telecoms operator for complex sites, announces the signature of a contract with Geneva International Airport for the installation and operation of a professional wi-fi network at the airport.
With 10 million passengers a year, Geneva International Airport is establishing itself as a fast-developing airport drawing on the quality of its infrastructure, the performance of its workforce, and the attractiveness of its environment. The presence of the international institutions in Geneva, the development of easyJet (1/3 of traffic), proximity to one of the largest exhibition and congress centres in Europe, intense business activity, and Winter-sports-related tourism all provide leverage for the growth of passenger traffic. To enhance the range of services it offers to the airport’s airlines and businesses, Geneva International Airport wants to develop a professional wi-fi network that enables more intensive use of mobile IT applications - Internet access, ground-aircraft communications, etc., thus guaranteeing users greater performance and productivity.
The airport has therefore selected Hub télécom to deploy and install a powerful partnership-based professional wi-fi network that provides integration perfectly suited to the way the airport operates. In meeting the Airport’s range of requirements, the Hub télécom service offers many advantages, such as powerful access conditions, the possibility of generating new revenue, and network management by a single operator.
"Thanks to the wi-fi network deployed by Hub télécom, Geneva International Airport will be able to optimise the services provided to the many businesses established on the airport, offering them greater flexibility and responsiveness, while at the same time guaranteeing them a high level of reliability and secure data transfer", says Robert Deillon, the General Manager of Geneva International Airport.
"We are delighted with this partnership with Geneva International Airport. After a preliminary study of the commercial and technical aspects that enabled us to confirm the commercial interest of developing a pro wi-fi service with the airport, this agreement marks the start of a collaborative effort that we hope will be sustainable and diversified.”, says Dominique Valentiny, the General Manager of Hub télécom.
