The 18th edition of the Geneva International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) will take place from 6 to 15 March 2020. It attracts more than 36’000 festival-goers each year and represents the world's largest event dedicated to cinema and human rights. Through this partnership, Genève Aéroport is pleased to contribute to the influence of the City as a centre of culture and peace throughout the world.
Each year, the FIFDH brings together more than 36’000 visitors, making it an essential festival on human rights. The centre for screenings, debates and activities will take place at Espace Pitoëff within the Maison Communale de Plainpalais; while events will also take place in more than 60 locations in Greater Geneva and throughout French-speaking Switzerland.
These event antennas are distinguished by their originality and eclecticism. Whether it is the UN or neighbourhood houses, as well as hospitals, theatres or schools: all these structures are active during the ten days in order to promote human rights throughout the world and highlight the city of Geneva as its ambassador.
The proposed activities are also wide-ranging and diverse since it is possible to attend film projections (fiction or documentaries); participate in discussions in forums; or let yourself be guided and contemplate speaking exhibitions. Specific themes are also offered to young audiences.
Genève Aéroport is proud to be associated with such an international event taking place in the various living areas of the Geneva municipalities and putting human rights in the spotlight. Thereby inviting the loyal local, regional and international public to discover, contemplate, question and above all challenge.
