For the holiday season, despite the restrictions in force, Genève Aéroport continues its efforts to offer a quality air network to those who wish to travel. Thus, from December 19, more than 70 destinations will be served via direct flights, by around thirty different airlines.
The two Geneva-based carriers provide a large part of this offer. easyJet will fly to more than 40 destinations during this period, across Europe. Through SWISS, around fifteen cities will be linked to Geneva, including new, more exotic destinations such as Marrakech and Hurghada.
For those looking for warmth or want to join their families, many frequencies are available to Mediterranean countries. Spain will be particularly well served (Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Palma, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, etc.), as will Italy (Rome, Naples, Brindisi, etc.). Direct flights are also available to Portugal, Greece, France, as well as Tunisia and Morocco.
Most of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are again connected to Geneva, especially during the holidays. This is the case for Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Kosovo.
As a reminder, several medium- and long-haul companies are also back in Geneva allowing to reach their hub, as well as connecting flights: Turkish Airlines (Istanbul), Emirates (Dubai), Etihad (Abu Dhabi) and Ethiopian Airlines (Addis Ababa).
Given the current situation, most airlines offer great flexibility for travel modifications, as well as insurance plans related to COVID.
In any case, it is important to check the travel restrictions, the requirements to enter the different countries and the possible quarantines upon return. In addition, Genève Aéroport has deployed numerous protective measures for its passengers and employees.
