Located between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Antalya is one of Turkey’s major attractions. Antalya has something for everyone: beaches, museums, amusement parks and breathtaking natural landscapes… Why not take the time out to visit it, it’s just a few hours from Geneva!
In the south-west of the country, the city is camped on a limestone plateau, above the crystal clear waters. It gives pride of place to art and history, to be discovered in the city's museums, such as the not-to-be-missed Antalya Museum, or the Atatürk (Turkish statesman) house museum. The old town, Kaleiçi, is the focal point of art galleries, cobble streets and many shops. It is a perfect place to stroll and stop for a drink on the many terraces. South of Kaleiçi the city's port has established itself as a busy marina. Hadrian’s Gate, Düden Falls and even the Köprülü Canyon are points of interest that should be visited.
Make the most of your stay in Antalya by tasting the Turkish specialities. Like the famous meatballs, the «kofte», the «borek» (filo pastry with Turkish cheese or meat), the «dolma» and the «sarma» (stuffed peppers or stuffed vine leaves). By ordering a mezze, you will taste all the specialties that go very well with «Ayran», this milky drink with a salty taste.
Located on the shores of the Mediterranean, Antalya is a tourist resort also famous for its beaches. Konyaalti Beach is renowned for its clean and crystal clear water. Lara Beach is another very pleasant beach, which will allow you to relax under the Turkish sun.
