VLM Airlines launches a Geneva-Antwerp route

VLM Airlines VLM Airlines launched a new route on Monday between Genève Aéroport and the city of Antwerp in Belgium. The independent airline offers two flights a day from Monday to Friday.

VLM Airlines CEO Arthur White stressed that "Antwerp and Geneva are both major business centres with a solid international reputation and also leading tourist destinations".

The airline observed that Antwerp is the diamond capital of the world, one of the largest ports and one of Europe's leading chemical centres, the heart of the fashion industry, and the city of Rubens, Sir Anthony van Dyck and many other artists.

Charter airline

VLM Airlines started in 1993 with its inaugural Antwerp-London route. Over the years, it has become a successful charter airline based at Antwerp International Airport.

With its fleet of Fokker 50s, VLM Airlines aim is to meet the needs of the European market for charter flights. It is available to tour operators, travel agencies, and the film and music industries, and provides logistical support for special events, sports teams, governments and armed forces, and NGOs. It also takes part in emergency airlifts.
