Looking for new getaway ideas with direct flights? Starting the Summer season, which debuts on 31 March 2019, Genève Aéroport offers some novelties in its air services. These should satisfy travellers looking for getaways.
Big news starting 13 June, a new long-haul flight of Kenya Airways will fly four times a week to Kenya. Its airport of Nairobi is an ideal connection hub for a large part of the Sub-Saharan countries of the African continent.
This new long-haul flight complements the existing long-haul flights to Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), Montreal (Air Canada), New York JFK (SWISS), New York Newark (United Airlines), Beijing (Air China), Washington (United Airlines) and several Persian Gulf destinations.
Main operator in Geneva, easyJet completes its network to Croatia with a flight twice a week to Pula. Warsaw, four times a week, open during the 2018-19 winter, is extended during the summer season.
SWISS will expand its network with six popular tourist destinations: Alicante (Spain/Costa Blanca), Brindisi (Italy/Apulia), Faro (Portugal/Algarve), Ibiza (Spain/Balearics), Larnaca (Cyprus), and Mykonos (Greece/Cyclades).
The Caspian Sea has been recently connected to Geneva, through the Baku (Azerbaijan) destination, served twice a week by the Azerbaijan Airlines company.
To see the offers of direct flights from Geneva, the new travel inspiration tool “L’Evasion” has recently been launched: www.gva.ch/levasion.
Developments in air transport, in parallel with these new developments, make that other routes may be reduced or even cancelled for commercial reasons specific to airlines.
Overall, 49 airlines will link Geneva to 120 destinations during the 2019 summer season.
