Fall marks the beginning of a new partnership for Darwin Airlines, which unveils its new brand, thanks to the collaboration with Adria Airways, the Slovenian airline company. Adria Airways Switzerland becomes the brand operated by the regional Swiss carrier, Darwin Airline, founded in 2003.
The new airline will operate with a fleet of six 50-seat Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft and four 68-seat ATR - 72500 s aircraft, serving several destinations in four European countries: Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain. The head office is located in Lugano and the main operational base is in Geneva.

The seat of the parent company Adria Airways is in Ljubljana and the company manages a fleet of Airbus A319 and Bombardier CRJ900 and CRJ700 serving 19 destinations in Western and Southeastern Europe with 196 flights per week. It carried 1.3 million passengers in 2016 and generated a total annual income of around EUR 157 million. The company currently employs around 400 persons and is a member of the Star Alliance since 2004.
