As from Friday, January 2, 2004, the airline AFRIQIYAH AIRWAYS will be operating a twice-weekly scheduled service from Geneva to Tripoli. Apart from serving Libya, this flight is timed to allow excellent connections to many destinations in Central and West Africa.
This new, non-stop flight will operate every Tuesday and Friday with an Airbus A-320-200 having a two-class seat configuration. The outward flight leaves Geneva (GVA) at 13:45 and arrives in Tripoli (TIP) at 17:30. The return flight takes off at 08:30 and lands at 10:15.
AFRIQIYAH AIRWAYS offers a whole series of connecting flights to the rest of the continent via Tripoli international airport. The following cities in particular are served: Abidjan, Bamako, Cotonou, Khartoum, Ouagadougou, N'djamena, Niamey and Lomé.
The airline AFRIQIYAH AIRWAYS was formed in 2001 with the aim of linking the African continent to Europe. The airline already serves Paris (5x per week) and Brussels (3x). It is a member of IATA (code: 8U) and has also just joined the Amadeus reservation system.
