While the internet platforms for price comparison and airline ticket booking are numerous and very efficient, sites offering gateway ideas according to other criteria are rather rare. To fill this gap, Genève Aéroport launches its online tool called “L’Évasion”, whose purpose is to make life easier for travellers who absolutely wish to leave from their favourite airport but have not chosen their holiday destination yet.
With this portal the preferences can be entered by themes (very intuitive such as romantic city, culture, beach, party etc.) or more objective criteria can be used, such as the temperature at the destination, flight duration, fare and, of course, travel period (whether just a time horizon or specific dates). The result in all cases will highlight only destinations served by direct flight, thus providing the maximum comfort and peace of mind to the passenger.
Once the choice is made, the user has access to a short description for each destination, with practical information and beautiful photos. Last but not least, the flight prices are displayed according to the selected dates and the user can make his/her reservation with confidence through the comparator Skyscanner, partner of Genève Aéroport.
This module was developed by the technology start-up Hellotrip, based in Paris and Amsterdam and already experienced in this type of development in the tourist field.
This new portal L'Évasion is part of Genève Aéroport’s strategy to promote its direct flights to more than 120 destinations operated by more than 50 airlines. It also serves to inform on novelties, such as the recent opening of a direct line to Africa by Ethiopian Airlines.
