The terminal will ensure facilities are in place to guarantee passenger safety at all times. Simultaneously, Genève Aéroport is working with its air transport partners on recovery scenarios in order to offer suitable services when flights are resumed.
Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, even though many activities have come to a standstill, some of the Genève Aéroport teams have been working tirelessly on the scenarios for the resumption of air traffic as well as on the new measures and installations to be put in place. Although the future is still uncertain, it is expected that the resumption of activity will be very gradual and that the reopening of the service will be carried out step by step over the next few months. The objective is to guarantee passenger safety at Genève Aéroport.
Among the general measures already in place, particular attention is paid to information, via posters widely distributed throughout the airport and announcements on procedures to adopt in the face of the risk. The reorganisation of the queues, in order to adhere to social distancing, the marking on the ground and optimised boarding procedures are also implemented. Other measures may be implemented quickly depending on the instructions given by the competent authorities.
The protection of employees of all companies active on the airport site is also at the heart of Genève Aéroport's concerns. This involves, for example, the installation of Plexiglas walls and the marking of social distances to be respected. All the measures put in place comply with the health authorities’ recommendations.
Information regarding the resumption of air links will be accessible in due time on the website www.gva.ch and travellers are invited to consult their airlines or travel agencies.
