Qatar Airways restarts this year its route between Geneva and Doha. Flights will be operated from the East Wing that has just opened its doors in Geneva a few weeks ago. This return of Qatar is welcome by Genève Aéroport and demonstrates that the demand for intercontinental destinations is back again. The long-haul flight network of GVA is now almost close to its pre-pandemic level.
In March 2020, Qatar Airways temporarily suspended its flights between Geneva and Doha because of the low demand due to COVID-19. From now on, this highly appreciated service will again be offered by the airline. Starting on 27 March 2022, Qatar Airways will link again Geneva with Doha. The route between Geneva Airport and Hamad International Airport will be available four times per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday:
- QR 100, Geneva (GVA) – Doha (DOH), Departure 16:10, Arrival 23:10, Airbus A350-900
- QR 099, Doha (DOH) – Geneva (GVA), Departure 08:05, Arrival 13:40 Airbus A350-900
Excellent connexions are available both ways via Doha to destinations like Seychelles, Kenya, Zanzibar, Sri Lanka, South Africa or Thailand.
Last December, Genève Aéroport inaugurated its new East Wing, which will be used mainly for intercontinental routes by major airlines.
