easyJet announces three new routes from Geneva for winter 2023/2024. The company has announced year-round direct flights to Funchal on the island of Madeira from November 7. The airline will also operate seasonal flights to Lanzarote from November 4 and to London Southend from December 16.
Funchal, the capital of Madeira Island, offers travellers a multitude of captivating attractions to discover. Venture out onto its cobbled streets to explore the old town and admire its traditional architecture, including the 15th-century Funchal Cathedral. To relax, travelers can enjoy the striking black pebble or sandy beaches. And for an escape from the city, the picturesque town of Curral das Freiras, nestled in the heart of the mountains, offers breathtaking scenery and a unique atmosphere.
The Canary island of Lanzarote, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, is characterized by its volcanic landscapes and wild nature. This destination will appeal to lovers of the great outdoors, hiking and, above all, surfing. Indeed, the island is often compared to Hawaii for the quality of its surf spots. The windier autumn and winter months are recommended for experienced surfers.
After London Gatwick and London Luton airports, easyJet is strengthening connectivity between London and Geneva with service to London Southend this winter. This new winter-only route will enhance the ski offer from the UK, as Switzerland is easyJet's leading ski destination. With this new route, easyJet confirms its role as a contributor to the local tourist economy.
For Genevans, London in winter offers a multitude of exciting activities for visitors. Seasonal festivals, with their twinkling illuminations and gastronomic delights, create a magical atmosphere throughout the city. World-renowned museums and art galleries offer captivating exhibitions, while West End shows captivate theater lovers. Iconic attractions such as Buckingham Palace and the London Eye take on a whole new dimension under the festive lights.
