Thanks to this new service offered to SWISS passengers, the waiting time before boarding is shortened, as the baggage registration is made upon their arrival at the airport (registration level), directly at the self-service-bag-drop, or at the relevant traditional counters.
For the first use of this service, the system allowing to securely hang the paper tag on the luggage is made available free of charge by SWISS at the airport. This tote in solid plastic is then reusable for all following trips. The traditional procedure of printing the baggage tag at the airport is also available for all SWISS flights.
In addition to flights departing from Geneva, the launch basis of this offer, this home baggage tag printing service is also available on the following flights: New York (JFK) – Geneva, Pristina – Geneva, Marrakech –Geneva, Skopje – Geneva, and from 25 August Moscow (DME) – Geneva.
"We are pleased to be one of the first European airlines to provide this service. It responds to the growing expectations of our passengers in terms of shorter waiting times and independence in their trips. With this new opportunity, we want to continue offering innovative and practical services to our Western Switzerland customers", commented Lorenzo Stoll, Head of Western Switzerland at SWISS.
Xavier Wohlschlag, Operations Director of Genève Aéroport shares the same enthusiasm saying "For many years, Genève Aéroport has been involved alongside airlines and ground handling companies in testing new techniques and procedures that would enhance passengers’ experience and shorten the time that separates travellers from the airport door to the aircraft. In this regard, this SWISS initiative is a significant step forward".
