The Duty Free shops management is awarded to Lagardère Travel Retail

A tender has decided between two major players of the sector. The new concessionaire is succeeding to The Nuance Group.

At the end of a tender launched in October 2016 Lagardère Travel Retail was awarded to the Duty Free concession of the platform by Genève Aéroport.

The successful bidder gets a concession to manage seven shops for a five-year period. It succeeds The Nuance Group, which has operated these shops to the airport’s satisfaction until the end of its concession.

The transition between the two operators will take place in the fourth quarter of 2017.

This choice was made following a very rigorous review and evaluation of the high-quality files submitted by these two Duty Free world leaders.

The financial and commercial concept-based analysis confirmed the high level of expertise and professionalism of the two bidders. However, the tender criteria placed Lagardère Travel Retail at the top of this demanding selection.

The Management of Genève Aéroport is looking forward to further developing its partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail, already an operator of multi-brand fashion shops, and in the past of the Relay kiosks.

It expresses its deepest gratitude to the management and team of The Nuance Group for the fruitful cooperation developed with them for many years in the duty-free sales activity, and which will continue for the Victoria's Secret store.
