Icelandair takes off from Geneva!


For the first time in its 77 years of existence, the Icelandic national airline took off from Geneva this Saturday, 24 May. This event marks the start of Icelandair’s summer operations between Geneva and Reykjavik.

The route will be operated until 23 September, with 2 flights a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. By doing this, the airline wishes to develop its European network and increase the number of flights from Switzerland during the coming years.

The Geneva-Reykjavik flight is currently available from CHF 234.- including all taxes (or €192.-) one way or CHF 377.- including all taxes (or €309.-) return*.

Flight schedules (local time):

  • Leave Geneva at 14:00 - arriving at Reykjavik at 15:50
  • Leave Reykjavik at 07:20 - arriving at Geneva at 12:55

As required by tradition, the inaugural Icelandair flight from Reykjavik was baptised under the fountains on its arrival at Genève Aéroport on Saturday 24 May.
