Icelandair meets its Geneva partners!

12.12.2013

The Icelandair sales and marketing team for Western Switzerland today attended a workshop in Geneva to announce its new offer from Genève Aéroport in 2014.

Bryndis E. Philibert, who is Sales Manager for Icelandair France and in charge of the French-speaking Swiss market, presented the company in a convivial and professional setting to travel agents, tour operators and local journalists. She also announced the terrific news for 2014: the start of Geneva-Reykjavik flights!

Ms. Philibert said, "We are delighted to announce that we will be flying from Geneva as of 24 May 2014. Icelandair successfully operated its first-ever flights from Zurich last spring. We decided to launch the new route from Geneva in response to strong demand from the Swiss market for tourist flights to Iceland. In 2014, we forecast the biggest growth spurt in the company’s history, with three new destinations, including Geneva, the addition of three new Boeing 757s to our fleet, a projected increase of 350,000 passengers and twice as many flights as in 2009!"

One of the company’s special partners, Genève Aéroport was represented by Robert Deillon, CEO of Genève Aéroport, who considers the arrival of Icelandair in 2014 excellent news for the local market: "This new route is a perfect addition to our range of summer destinations from Geneva. It gives passengers easy access to an original and attractive destination. Geneva customers will soon be won over by Iceland’s grandiose landscapes and unspoilt nature." For Mr. Deillon, "the launch of Geneva-Reykjavik flights means that Iceland’s geysers are only four hours from the jet d’eau!"

From 24 May to 23 September 2014, Icelandair will operate twice-weekly flights between Geneva and Reykjavik, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, at the following times:

  • Geneva-Reykjavik: departing Geneva at 14:00 – arrives in Reykjavik at 15:50
  • Reykjavik-Geneva: departing Reykjavik at 07:20 – arrives in Geneva at 13:00

Passengers can already book their flights on the company’s website (www.icelandair.fr) or via their travel agent.
