Solar Impulse flight postponed

The Solar Impulse team announced on Friday afternoon that the "Swiss Solar Flights" originally planned for Saturday 11 September, including on Geneva International Airport, have been postponed. The wind forecast is in fact stronger than expected on the leg in German-speaking Switzerland, gusting to 20 to 30 km/h on the ground at Zurich Airport.

At the current stage of development of the project, that is a risk to which Solar Impulse is unwilling to subject the prototype solar aircraft.

The Solar Swiss Flights will take place the next time there are favourable weather conditions; and the public will of course be informed.
