The national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), in cooperation with Silkway Travel (Azeri tour-operator), has launched today a direct route Baku-Geneva.
The flights will be operated twice a week on Fridays and Sundays, on comfortable jets with a special premium configuration, only for first and business class passengers. The total seating capacity is 65 seats (7 First Class and 58 Business Class).
Flights will be operated on Fridays and Sundays with the following schedule:
Baku – Geneva >>
- Geneva – Baku >> 11:15 > 18:55
This is the first ever direct service between Geneva and Baku. Business relations between the two countries are increasing, in particular in the field of oil and trading. This new route responds also to a growing demand from the Azeri market to spend holidays in Switzerland.
AZAL is the flag carrier of Azerbaijan, with its main base at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. It operates a fleet of approximately 32 aircrafts (mainly Airbus and Boeing). Currently AZAL flies to more than 20 destinations in Europe and Asia and has many cooperation agreements with other airlines, like Air France, Alitalia or Lufthansa for example.
