Genève Aéroport is surrounded by experts in acoustics, as well as by representatives of local residents from the airport, of the canton of Geneva and of the nearby French region, in order to update its automatic noise measuring and identification system (MIABA). This device, regularly improved since the end of the 1970s, allows one-off acoustic measurements of the noise of aircraft in flight in some locations in the vicinity of Genève Aéroport. This system was last updated more than 10 years ago.
The company CASPER, winner of the tender, accompanies Genève Aéroport in this modernisation. 4 microphones were replaced late 2015. The implementation of the new system continues in 2016.
