During the summer holidays there is a significant rise in passenger numbers at Genève Aéroport. In addition to traffic jams at the car parks, there may also be long queues at the check-in desks or at security. Here is some advice you can follow to ensure your journey is stress-free.
Passengers can check their flight status on our website www.gva.ch
, on our free app GVApp
or with their airline, and are advised to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight time.
TRAVELLING TO THE AIRPORT
Genève Aéroport recommends passengers use public transport
to get to the airport: train, shuttle, regular regional coaches (from Annecy, Chamonix/St-Gervais, Chambéry, Grenoble, Lyon, etc.), Geneva buses (5, 5+, 10, 23, 28, 56, 57, 66, V, Aérobus). The airport is connected to Swiss and European train lines. Find out more on our website www.gva.ch/transports
The drop-off area
is at Departures (on the first floor). Drivers taking passengers to the airport should follow the signs for « Kiss & Fly ».
Passengers who have to travel to the airport by car can reserve a parking space
at the ResaPark area. It is easy to reserve your place online at www.gva.ch/ResaPark
Passengers leaving their car at Genève Aéroport can check the availability of the car parks
on www.gva.ch/parkings or on the free app GVApp
. The app is compatible with Apple Watch.
We also offer an official valet service
We would like to remind you that only people with a valid boarding pass for the day in question can access the French Sector
, where the car hire companies are located.
Some airlines enable passengers to check in luggage online or at the «Express Check-in» counters in the terminal, before dropping off their luggage at the correct desk.
For some flights, passengers can check in the day before departure. For further information, passengers can consult the website of their airline
or the page www.gva.ch/checkin
To make going through security easy and to save time, you can purchase access to the Priority Lane at www.gva.ch/pl
To avoid being held up at security, we would like to remind passengers that dangerous or sharp items are not permitted in their hand luggage
Liquids, sprays and other gels must be in their own containers of no more than 100 ml and must be carried in a transparent, plastic bag with total capacity of up to one litre.
OFFSET CO2 EMISSIONS
In collaboration with the organisation protecting the climate, myclimate, Genève Aéroport offers its passengers the opportunity to offset the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
of their flight.
Have a good flight!
