Since 17 April all travellers coming from or going to the non-Schengen area will be controlled at the border.
Switzerland applies the new European legislation that requires member countries of the European Union and the countries that benefit from the free movement to reinforce controls at the external borders of the Schengen area. In fact, all the people coming from and going to the non-Schengen area will be controlled by border guards. For Genève Aéroport, this new legislation can generate longer wait times at the emigration points (borders). Therefore, the Management of Genève Aéroport recommends passengers travelling outside the Schengen area to plan sufficient time for crossing the border.
