A series of unforeseen events beyond the control of Genève Aéroport severely disrupted airport operations during the day of Saturday, 21 February 2015.
An IT fault on a European system slowed baggage sorting, while facilities managed by ATC were briefly rendered inoperative because of snow.
Some 35 flights were cancelled and 22 planes were diverted to other airports. Four flights were exceptionally authorised after 00:30, in order to allow travellers to return home after this day of reduced services.
Passengers transiting through our airport also suffered significant delays.
Genève Aéroport Management extends to all travellers and local residents its sincere apologies for the inconvenience they have suffered.
