Genève Aéroport confirmed as the most efficient airport in Europe

Meeting today in Sydney (Australia) for their annual conference, the experts of the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) awarded Genève Aéroport for the second consecutive year the title of most efficient airport in its class.

After an initial distinction obtained in Porto in 2010, Genève Aéroport has once again been recognized by the experts of the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) as the most efficient European airport in the category of airports with less than 15 million passengers per year.

The "Airport Efficiency Excellence Award" rewards Genève Aéroport on the basis of an analysis of many parameters, including the number and quality of available facilities, the diversity of airport users, the level of charges, the volume of business activities, or an airport's financial results.

Robert Deillon, welcoming the result, said: "This distinction comes as a further recognition of the efforts we have made to ensure the development of the airport on solid and sustainable operational and financial foundations".

For his part, François Longchamp, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Genève Aéroport, said: “This award, which recognizes the work done by everyone - by management, by the staff of Genève Aéroport and also by its partners, shows how much emphasis is laid on the qualitative development of these facilities".
