About 1'500 children took part in the drawing competition organized this summer by Genève Aéroport. The winners have now been announced. Leyre Maria (Spain) won first prize in the under-8 category, Anja (Switzerland) came first in the 8-12 category, and Varia (Hong Kong) received the greatest number of “Likes” on Facebook. In all, 11 youngsters will take home a prize, while 20 others will receive a token consolation. Their drawings will be posted on www.gva.ch, on the airport Facebook page and in the terminal building.
Sweets, a swimming pool, the library, animals, games, flowers. These are some of the things that young people 12 and under associate with the airport of their dreams. Or so it would appear, judging by the drawing competition organized this summer by Genève Aéroport.
During the four-week competition, over 1'500 drawings were slipped into the specially designated containers. For the panel of judges, deciding on the winners was no easy job, given the number of drawings, their widely differing styles (cartoon drawings, colourful paintings, black and white illustrations, etc.) and the very different atmospheres they reflect (poetic, realistic, fantasy-filled, futuristic, and so on). A genuine bouquet of creativity! The work of these fledgling artists is all the more remarkable in view of the limited time they were given. Indeed, the one condition set was that they had to produce their drawing between the time they went through security and the moment they left the gate to board the plane.
