Green light for the T2 terminal from ComCo

At its meeting on 22nd October last, the board of directors of Geneva International Airport (AIG) took note with satisfaction of the favourable recommendation expressed on 27th September 2004 by the Competition Commission (ComCo) regarding "the compatibility of the project for reopening the old T2 terminal at Geneva International Airport with Article 13 of the Agreement with the European Union on Air Transport".

In its recommendation, the ComCo notes that the Geneva International Airport’s plan to segment its services and to refurbish the old terminal for use by the “no frills” aviation community "gives no advantage to the airlines in a sense falling within the definition of a state subsidy" and that "the criteria for admission to the T2 terminal are objective, clear, non-discriminatory and based on a rational, economic approach".
