On Friday 7 December 2007, Geneva International Airport had the pleasure of welcoming its ten millionth passenger for the current year, which is a new absolute record in its history.
The passenger concerned was Mrs. Rosa Maresca, travelling with the Geneva airline Flybaboo and boarding for Naples, one of Flybaboo’s new destinations.
As a reminder, GVA had almost crossed this symbolic barrier in 2006, with 9'962'987 passengers. This year, the growth in passenger traffic has been considerable because, at 9.6% since the beginning of the year, it is well above the European average (+6%).
Finally, it may be noted that with its ten millionth passenger, Geneva International Airport has welcomed more than 251 million air travellers since it opened to commercial traffic in 1922!
