Night flights to calibrate the instrument landing system approaches (ILS)

Drone flights are planned on the nights of 14/15 November, 15/16 November and 16/17 November 2017 to test new calibration methods, less noisy than in case of use of a small plane.

Flights operated by Skyguide should be stationary (only climbs and descents), therefore the noise will be very localised. These flights will begin as soon as the closing of the track, around 11.30 pm to 05:00 a.m.

International civil aviation standards impose a regular check of the proper functioning and accuracy of the navigation aids on airports. In Switzerland calibration flights are conducted under the monitoring of Skyguide, the authority responsible for airspace surveillance.
