Welcome to the Heart of Europe

Created in 1920, Genève Aéroport is one of the oldest airports on the Old Continent. It accompanied the beginnings of aviation and grew with the city and its region.

Property of the State of Geneva, Genève Aéroport is an autonomous public institution since 1994. The company has more than 997,9 employees and is the flagship of a site hosting some 200 other companies. Overall, the airport platform has thus nearly 11,000 employees.

In 2021, Geneva Airport welcomed 5'92 million passengers, 67% less than in 2019 (17'926'625 passengers), due to the COVID-19 pandemic that strongly affected air transport.

Today, Geneva and its region are connected to over 137 destinations, operated by 48 airlines.

Genève Aéroport followed the development of its region and it is a key link to the vitality of a region that is among the most dynamic in Europe. The history of the platform reflects the openness to the world of a city and canton counting 506,765 inhabitants, 41 international organisations, 750 NGOs, headquarters of 130 multinationals, not to mention many highly export-oriented companies.  The catchment area of Genève Aéroport includes six million people within a radius of 150 km, including one million inhabitants for Greater Geneva.

Genève Aéroport generates aeronautical revenues and non-aeronautical revenues that enable it to maintain its infrastructure and finance its investments each year. In 2021, Geneva Airport's revenues increased by 9.3% compared to 2020 to reach 209 million francs.

In 2021, Geneva Airport recorded a loss of CHF 88.9 million, significantly lower than the loss in 2020 (CHF 129.5 million).  The company doesn’t receive any subsidies from public authorities.

Welcome to the heart of Europe, welcome to Genève Aéroport!
