Opening hours of terminal T1


For security reasons, the terminal T1 is closed from 00:00 am to 04:00 am. The French sector is closed from 11:00 pm to 04:30 am. It is not allowed to stay inside during this time.

If you can not afford a night in a hotel, we suggest you to contact a youth hostel.



Internet check-in


Some airlines offer the possibility of checking in via the internet. This means you check in on line, select your seat and print your boarding card before coming to the airport.
Detailed information can be found on the websites of the airlines concerned:

NB: This service may be different, depending on each airline and each type of ticket. It is usually available only for electronic tickets.



Check-in the day before


To know if you can do the check-in of your bagagges the day before, please consult the airlines summary table (pdf 0.1 MB).

If you checked your bags in the day before, we recommend that you make your way to the airport one hour before your flight departs to complete passport control formalities, go through the security check and make your way to the departure lounge.

Check-in at the rail station


The day before of your flight, do the check-in of your luggage at the station quietly. You will receive there also your chart of loading for the place of your choice on the aircraft. Thus, the day of the departure, you have more time and begin your travel in all peace, without having to wait check-in and without having to carry your luggage.



Check-in Express at the kiosks

Passengers can check in with their luggage at any of the 24 kiosks located in the main terminal and the Swiss Railways Airport railway station.

Check-in the same day


Latest check-in time
It is recommended to appear at the check-in one at two hours before the departure of the flight. Every passenger not having registered 40 minutes prematurely of the departure, can be refused by the airline. Please ask your airline for this information.



Check-in


All check-ins for scheduled flights - including low-cost, Easyjet and Baboo - are carried out at the main terminal (T1).

Only passengers or members of their immediate families (with the same name, with an identity document) can check-in their luggage. They must present themselves at check-in with all the travel documents of the persons concerned.



Unusual luggage items


To check in unusual luggage items, please first check in at the same counter as for normal luggage, and then go to counter no. 90.

The maximum dimensions for unusual luggage items are: approx. 100 cm x 80 cm x 400 cm.

No smoking airport

Smoking is prohibited inside the airport buildings.

Passengers may use the smoking lounge equipped with the latest ventilation and smoke extraction technologies located in the transit area, near the 1st class/business lounges.
