Sharing of codes between the company which "operates" the flight and those who are "marketing" it. The same flight can have several codes.

Scheduled flight
Regular flights operated by a an airline.

Charter flights
Flights chartered by a tour operator, generally for a "holiday package".

Tour operator
Travel agent organizing fixed journeys (flight and stay).
