New "early morning train" services between Biel, Fribourg, Sion, and Geneva Airport

27.03.2024

Following the success of two initial trials before Christmas 2023 between Biel/Bienne and Geneva Airport, Geneva Airport and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) are offering new early morning train services for passengers residing between Biel/Bienne, Fribourg, Sion, and Geneva. These services enable travelers to catch the first wave of flights (between 6am and 8am).

As part of their joint efforts to promote responsible mobility and to better meet the needs of leisure traffic, Geneva Airport and the SBB agreed to extend the test offer introduced at the start of the Christmas 2023 holidays from the Pied-du-Jura and the Vaud coast to the cantons of Fribourg and Valais. These new services aim to allow customers from these cantons to reach Geneva Airport directly in time to board the earliest flights (departing from 06:00 AM) in the most comfortable conditions, leaving their vehicles at home.

Three early morning train services are now offered:

Cities such as Sion, Martigny, St-Maurice, Bex, Aigle, Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne, Renens, as well as Fribourg, Romont, and Palézieux will also have train access to Geneva Airport.
