Prior Permission Required (PPR)

Air traffic regulation (permanent)

In order to efficiently coordinate all types of flight operations at Geneva airport (Scheduled, Charter, General Aviation and Light Aircraft), a Prior Permission is Required (PPR) as a compulsory measure for flights not regulated by Slot Coordination Switzerland.

Genève Aéroporthas made available two internet based PPR Tools that allow you to see the available capacity (projected capacity).

Flights operations that are exempted:

a) Search and rescue flights, ambulance flights, police flight operations, Swiss military flights and official flights authorized by FOCA.

b) Flights diverting to Geneva for safety, weather or technical reasons unless there are specific restrictions published in a NOTAM.

For both these categories, unless the operation is an emergency, the planned movements need to be communicated in advance to the Airport Steering : +41 22 717 71 26.

Method :

- For non-commercial flights, reservations can be made 4 weeks in advance.
- One remaining slot per hour available for commercial flights at D-1 and for non-commercial flights the same day.
